Frederiksted

On the west end of the island, view Fort Frederik, which stands watch over the Victorian homes and 19th century churches of the town of Frederiksted. Take a boat to Buck Island National Reef Monument, an 880-acre nature preserve boasting an underwater snorkeling trail, to view the stunning array of coral and sea life.

Try the fresh local fish, lobster and susu chicken curry served in a pineapple shell.

Look for bargains on perfumes, china, porcelain, crystal, imported clothing, leather goods, watches, jewelry, gold and crafts made by local artisans. Shops are located between Strand Street and King Street.
